Wow! The airport in Detroit doesn't look at all like I remember it from the days when I flew through here twice a month. They have really cleaned it up with nice shops and, frankly, clean floors and lights that work. One of the very best perks from the Platinum Amex is access to the airline lounges. We have a five hour layover in Detroit before our flight to Paris takes off. We will use up part of that eating dinner, but we will spend most of our time right here in the quiet and where they have free internet!
It has become a tradition to take a fairly horrible picture of Dana in the airport. Some come out worse than others, but the good ones only happen by accident. Here's one from this trip.
