Our third day at Roland Garros looked like it would be better. The weather forecast looked better, we had access to the suite and the wonderful food there, and Dana would get to see Roger Federer play! (I mean, that’s why we were here, right?) The tennis that day was actually quite good. Roger looked very good, like he could win the whole tournament. The weather stayed dry, though it never really got warm.
Lunch was quail and was lovely. One of our fellow travelers was a little freaked out at eating tiny birds and refused, but I thought it was very good.
After tennis, we went looking for something a little lighter to eat. Accidentally, we walked quite a way and ended up having dinner in a neighborhood pub. Less expensive and very good. It was the first place we traveled in France where no one even attempted to speak English to us. It was fun to spend time off the tourist track.
