     Charles L. Spicer, Jr., FACHE, is the President and CEO of the OU Medical System.  Spicer’s new role oversees all entities of OU Medical System, a licensed 776-bed system comprised of three hospital facilities- OU Medical Center, The Children’s Hospital at OU

Medical Center and OU Medical Center – Edmond.

Under Spicer’s leadership, The Children’s Hospital set record admissions, ER visits and surgical volumes while patient satisfaction scores showed significant increases. Other successes included the development of a pediatric cardiovascular institute, the expansion of the pediatric residency neonatal/perinatal programs, physician recruitment and the creation of a pediatric hospitalist program. Spicer’s responsibilities as Children’s CEO also included select adult acute care services including imaging, radiology services, laboratories and system-wide strategic planning.

Prior to his time with OU Medical System, Chuck served in executive leadership positions within the University of Texas Health System and with Texas Health Resources in Dallas, Texas.
